Scramble QR Codes for Visitor Badges & Support of Google Wallet

With this update, Visitor Management system now supports Scramble QR Codes as a credential for visitor badges. Here's brief overview.

Key Features:

  • Scramble QR Code Credential: Administrators can now configure 'Scramble QR Code' as a credential type for visitor badges.

  • Dynamic Updates: Unlike static QR codes, Scramble QR Codes update every 30 seconds by default, increasing security. Administrators can adjust the update interval as needed.

  • Apple Wallet does not currently support Scramble QR Codes as credential within Apple wallet app. We will update if this changes in the future.

Enforcement of Manual Card Format Selection

πŸ“… 8th August 2024

We have released the final enhancement of this feature that allows admins to enforce card format selection when creating cards in Genea portal.

Key Features:

  • Admins can now enforce the selection of card formats for their location portals.

  • Once enforcement is enabled, every card created on a specific customer portal must be mapped to a card format, which operators will need to select manually.

  • This feature is available for all Mercury hardware-based portals and is particularly beneficial for building portals managing multiple tenant cards. Mapping card formats will help efficiently track and manage any format overlaps.

  • Necessary changes have also been made to the APIs.

  • From now on, card format selection enforcement will be enabled by default for any new building portal. However, it can be easily disabled from the settings page of the Geneva web application if needed.

Supported Mobile App Versions:

  • iOS App: Version 4.0.14

  • Android App: Version 3.12.3 #369

Assigning Default Home Floor to Tenant Users

πŸ“… 8th August 2024

We have released feature that allows building admins to assign a default home floor to tenant users. This feature streamlines the process of setting a default home floor for tenants.

Here’s how it works:

  • When a tenant user is created on a building portal, either directly or via synchronization from a tenant portal, the default home floor specified for that tenant will be automatically assigned.

  • For instance, if Company Z is located on the 27th floor and has 10,000 users, instead of manually setting the home floor for each user, the building admin can configure the default home floor as 27 for Company Z. Any user associated with Company Z in the building portal will automatically have the 27th floor set as their home floor.

This feature is exclusively available for Mercury building portals with OTIS and TKE DD enabled.

Mitsubishi Destination Dispatch Integration

πŸ“… 30th May 2024

We have added support for Mitsubishi destination dispatch integration within our system. This new integration is designed to work with Mercury LP4502 controllers and encompasses all essential elevator functions, including front door access, access to authorized floors, external readers, and more.

Key Features:

  • Compatibility: Works seamlessly with Mercury LP4502 controllers.

  • Comprehensive Functionality: Includes front door access, access to authorized floors, support for external readers and more.

Important note:

  • The integration requires a middleware to bridge the gap between Mitsubishi's older OPDC process controller and the newer ELSGW process communication gateway. The role of the middleware is to convert the OPDC protocol to ELSGW, which Mitsubishi understands. This middleware will be pre-configured in a system provided by Genea and sent to you if you wish to enable the integration at any of your locations. For more details on the integration, please contact our support team at acsupport@getgenea.com.

Reset Controller From Genea UI

πŸ“… 27th May 2024

We have released controller reset functionality that allows you to reset a controller directly from the Genea UI.

Feature Overview:

  • This feature allows authorized users to reset the controller, clearing its database. After the reset, a synchronization action is required to reload the data. Please note that resetting the controller is not a typical action and may not be required every day. However, it may be necessary in specific scenarios such as controller relocation or other specific reasons during the commissioning of a controller require this action.

Important Advisory:

  • Before initiating a reset, please consult the Genea support team to confirm the necessity and explore potential alternative solutions.

  • Resetting the controller erases all data from its memory, rendering it non-functional until the configuration is reloaded. Use this functionality with utmost caution.

Mandatory Post-Reset Action:

  • After a reset, the controller will reboot. A manual synchronization is essential to reload the configuration from the application to the controller.

For any questions or assistance regarding this new feature, please contact acsupport@getgenea.com.

Card Field Enhancements For Enterprise Portals

πŸ“… 4th April 2024

We have released an improvement to our card field! Global admins now have the option to enable manual card selection for our Mercury portals. Key Features:

  • Manual Card Selection: Global admins can now manually select card formats along with card numbers, empowering them to tailor card management for specific integrations and requirements.

Previously, administrators had to manually perform mathematical calculations to adjust card numbers with the cards formats that use offsets. With this enhancement, Genea now handles these calculations automatically when a card format requires recalculating the card number. This streamlines the process and reduces the burden on administrators.

  • Enhanced Search and Logging: Searching for cards using the printed base card number is now simpler, as Genea automatically includes information about the format and facility code (FC) in all relevant logs.

Optional Functionality:
