Genea’s integration with Hanwha Vision brings live camera feeds, instant video playback, and camera mapping features directly into your Genea Security dashboard enhancing how you monitor, investigate, and respond to access events.

What This Integration Enables

Once connected, the Hanwha integration allows you to:

  • Stream live video directly within Genea.

  • View playback of past events.

  • Automatically fetch cameras from your Hanwha system - no manual setup.

  • Build a Camera Wall to monitor multiple live feeds in a dashboard grid.

  • Map cameras to access points like Doors, Elevator Doors, Monitor Points (MPs), and Controller Points (CPs).

This integration bridges the gap between physical security and video surveillance, streamlining investigations and enabling real-time visibility.

Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure:

  • Your Hanwha system is reachable over your network.

  • You have valid Hanwha VMS credentials with access to camera configurations.

  • You have admin privileges in the Genea platform.

Setting Up the Integration

Installing Hanwha

  1. Navigate to the 'Integrations' tab in your Genea admin dashboard.

  2. Scroll down and find the 'Video Management Systems' integrations, and click 'Install' under the Hanwha Vision.

  3. Use the "Hanwha" Username and Password. [Note: This is the credentials you use to log in to your Hanwha Portal]

  4. Click on Sync Systems, upon that you will be able to see all "System Name", "Owner Name", "System Status", and "State of Health". Then click on Enable in the actions of Hanwha Systems. [Note: You will be able to Sync Camera for only those systems that you have enabled]

  5. Click on "Sync Cameras", and you will be able to see all configured Cameras. You can also filter by Locations, Device Type, Status (Visible/Hidden), and Cameras (Mapped/Non-Mapped).

  6. To map your cameras to your devices, click the 'Map' button against the Hanwha camera.

    • Note: Map your cameras to your devices. In order to get instant access to the right video feed at the right time, Genea needs to know which cameras are monitoring which devices.

    • Select the Location, Device Type (Door, Elevator Door, Monitor Point, and Control Point) and Device. You can map the camera to multiple locations and multiple devices if needed.

    • Click on 'Save'. Once saved, the main table will display the number of devices associated with the camera and their respective locations.

  7. (Optional) Camera Link Offset: This setting enables you to customize the offset time for the camera link in order to sync the access event and camera times.

The internal clock of cameras may drift from the true time and vary from room to room. And access events being critical, it is necessary that we display the exact video clips against a particular access event in the activity log. To ensure the correct video clips are displayed along with access events, this setting can be used.

You may set your system to capture video of an event up to 10 seconds before, or up to 10 seconds after the camera time stamp. To set, move the slider next to the 'Camera Link Offset (seconds)' to the desired number of seconds.

    Congratulations!
Your Hanwha VMS integration is now set up. You’re all set to start monitoring live feeds, reviewing footage, and mapping cameras to doors, elevators, and more right from your Genea dashboard. You can now select your location instead of global overview for monitoring.

Setting Up Camera Wall

The Camera Wall provides a centralized interface to monitor multiple camera feeds simultaneously ideal for live situational awareness.

To set up your personalized Camera Wall:

  1. Navigate to Control Center -> Camera Wall

  2. Select the cameras you wish to display from the dropdown list. This is the camera name that you saw while syncing the camera in the above integration setup.

  3. Drag and arrange them in your preferred layout

  4. Save your custom view

Each admin user can create their own layout, allowing for role based monitoring.

Viewing Audit Logs with Linked Video

When your Hanwha cameras are mapped to access points (like Doors, Elevator Cabs, Monitor Points, etc.), you’ll be able to view relevant video footage directly from your audit logs. This gives your team critical visual context during security reviews, incident investigations, and compliance checks without needing to leave the Genea dashboard.

Steps to View Linked Camera Footage:

  1. Navigate to Activities → Event Log

  2. Apply any relevant filters, such as time range, door, or event type.

  3. Click the link in the camera column to launch live or playback view, depending on the event time.

  4. Use player controls to review footage for incident verification or further action.

Troubleshooting

Cameras not showing after setup?
If no cameras appear, re-sync the list from integration settings.

Mapped camera not visible in audit logs or activity feeds?
Confirm the camera is properly linked to a Door, Elevator, MP, or CP. After mapping, wait a moment and refresh the logs to see the updates.

NOTE:
If your firewall blocks the outgoing events, then you may need to configure rules to add the below IP address to the whitelist:

IP Addresses for Genea's Hanwha server calls for production:
