Feature Overview
The Utility Bill Upload feature makes it easy to upload, review, and track utility bills directly from the Invoicing page.
With this update, you can:
Upload bills in just a few clicks.
Keep track of pending utility bills that need attention.
View and download past bills in the new Utility Bill History tab.
Reduce errors by reviewing details (like account numbers, billing periods, and providers) in one central place.
When to Use It
Use this feature whenever you need to:
Upload utility bills (PDF, image) for a billing cycle.
Check which utility bills are still pending.
Review and download previously uploaded bills for record-keeping.
Add comments or request adjustments to account details.
This tool ensures that all utility billing information is accurate, complete, and tied to the correct invoicing periods.

Genea will help with the setup of meters for which utility bills are required. Reach out to amrbsupport@getgenea.com with any questions about the meters that have been set up so that you can easily upload utility bills to the right meters.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Uploading Utility Bills
Go to the Invoicing Landing Page.
Click Upload Utility Bills.
A side panel will open showing any bills pending upload, grouped by customer and building.
If you manage multiple buildings, they will be listed by Customer > Building > Invoicing Period.
Select Upload next to the correct bill.
In the Upload Utility Bill panel, fill in the required fields:
Building Name (pre-filled)
Utility Provider (pre-filled)
Account # (pre-filled)
Utility Type (pre-filled)
Start Date (date picker, auto-filled but editable)
End Date (date picker, auto-filled but editable)
Comments (optional – add any requests for account or meter number adjustments)
Click Upload File to select one or more PDF or image files.
Click Save.
If successful, you’ll see a confirmation message: “Utility Bill successfully uploaded.”
💡 Tip: If you don’t have any bills to upload, you’ll see the message: “All utility bills collected.”
2. Viewing Pending Utility Bills
On the Invoicing Landing Page, look for the column Pending Utility Bills.
The number shown indicates how many bills are still missing.
Click the number to view details and upload bills directly.
3. Reviewing Utility Bill History
Open any invoice and click the new Utility Bill History tab.
Here you can view:
Building name
Utility provider
Account number
Utility type and meter number
Utility bill period
Uploaded date and uploader email
For each bill, you can:
View → Open the bill in read-only mode with full details.
Download → Save the bill PDF to your device.
Comments → Read comments added at upload.
Delete → Permanently remove the bill (will re-appear as pending).
Best Practices
Always double-check start and end dates before saving.
Use the Comments field to flag adjustments to account or meter numbers.
Upload bills promptly to keep the Pending Utility Bills list clear.
