Bosch Panel Setup Guide

Configure your Bosch panel for integration with Genea.

1. Prerequisites

Before starting the setup, ensure you have the following:

  1. Bosch Panel

  2. USB Cable

  3. Ethernet Cable (if using network connection)

  4. Transformer and Battery (for power supply)

  5. Remote Programming Software (RPS) installed on a computer

Installation Steps

1. Powering the Panel

  1. Connect the Transformer and Battery to the panel.

  2. Ensure the power supply is stable before proceeding.


2. Network Connection

  • If using Ethernet, connect an Ethernet cable from the panel to the network.

  • Ensure the panel and computer running RPS are on the same network.


3. Installing & Logging into Remote Programming Software (RPS)

RPS Installation

  1. Install Remote Programming Software (RPS) on a computer connected to the same network as the panel.

  2. Open RPS and enter the following credentials when prompted:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: 1111


4. Panel Configuration

For Existing System with Configuration Data

  1. Power up the panel.

  2. Connect to the Panel (via USB or Network).

  3. In RPS, click Receive Data to import the existing panel configuration.

If needed, update the panel’s IP address before importing data.


For Fresh Setup (New Installation)

4.1 Creating a New Panel in RPS

  1. Open RPS and click Create New Panel.

  2. Select a Panel Group.

  3. Enter Panel Name & Description and complete the installation process.

4.2 Open Panel View

  1. In RPS, navigate to View > Panel List.

  2. Right-click the newly created panel and select Open Panel View.

4.3 Configure On-Board Ethernet (IP) Communicator

  • Set the IP Address, gateway and port number.

    1. Port Configuration

      1. TCP Port: Set to 7700 (recommended) — This port is required for on-premises communication between the Genea Gateway and the Bosch Panel. No external traffic routing is necessary.

      2. Firewall Rules:

      • Allow all outbound connection on Port 8883 (MQTT over TLS) Ensures secure communication over the internet.

  • Use this configured IP address in the Genea application when creating the controller.

4.4 Configure Automation Passcode

  • Set the Automation Passcode in RPS.

  • Use this passcode in the Genea application when creating the controller.

4.5 Miscellaneous Settings

  • Set Time Zone & Time Format.

  • Enable Tamper Detection:

    • Go to Panel Wide Parameters > Miscellaneous > Enclosure Tamper Enable.

    • Set it to "Yes".

    • Press F1 in RPS for more details.


5. Connecting the Panel to RPS

Via USB Cable

  1. Insert one end of the USB cable into the panel.

  2. Insert the other end into your computer.

  3. Open RPS and click Connect.

  4. Enter the password obtained from the panel (highlighted in yellow on the panel screen).

Via Network Connection (Alternative)

  • Ensure the panel’s IP address is correctly configured.

  • The panel and computer should be on the same network.

  • Open RPS and click Connect.


6. Sending or Receiving Data

For Existing System

  • In RPS, click Receive Data to import the existing configuration.

For Fresh Setup

  • In RPS, click Send Data to upload the initial configuration to the panel.
