Overview
The Tenant Access Group (AG) Mapping feature enables building administrators to assign multiple, tenant-specific Access Groups within the Visitor Type configuration. This ensures that visitor invitations automatically inherit the correct access permissions based on which tenant they are visiting.
Previously, only a single Access Group could be configured and it applied uniformly across all tenants. This enhancement removes that limitation. |
Where to Find This Feature
Navigate to:
Building Portal β Visitor Management β Visitor Type β Visitor Access
This feature is available for Elevator 2.0 enabled portals.
The Visitor Access section contains two sub-sections:
Default Access Group β applied when an invite is created without a tenant selected. (Local Building Portal invite)
Tenant Access Group β allows per-tenant AG configuration.
Configuring Tenant Access Groups
1. Opening the Edit Modal
Click the Edit button next to the Tenant Access Group header. The Edit Tenant Access Groups modal opens, showing:
A list of all tenants.
A dropdown per tenant to select one or more Access Groups.
The total AG capacity displayed in the modal subtitle (e.g., total up to 32).
2. Assigning Access Groups to a Tenant
Locate the tenant in the list (or use the search bar).
Click the Access Groups dropdown for that tenant.
Select one or more Access Groups from the list.
Click Save and Close to apply changes, or Cancel to discard.
The same Access Group can be reused and assigned to multiple tenants simultaneously. |
3. Bulk Assigning Access Groups
To assign the same Access Groups to multiple tenants at once:
Select the checkboxes next to each tenant you want to update.
The toolbar at the top shows X tenants are selected and reveals the Bulk Assign and Remove Access Groups buttons.
Click Bulk Assign to open the AG picker and apply to all selected tenants at once.
Or click Remove Access Groups to clear all AGs from selected tenants.
Click Clear Selection to deselect all tenants and return to the standard view.
How Access Groups are applied to invitations
When a visitor invitation is created, the system combines Access Groups from multiple sources depending on the invitation flow:
Invitation Flow | AGs Applied |
Invite from Tenant Portal (synced to Building) | Tenant Visitor Type AGs (Tenant specific access)+ Building Visitor Type AGs (Default AG + Tenant specific AG, if any) |
Invite from Building Portal (with a Tenant selected) | AGs mapped to that Tenant in Building Visitor Type (Default AG + Tenant specific AG, if any) |
Invite from Building Portal without Tenant selected | Default Access Groups from Building Visitor Type |
Important Behaviors & Rules
If an Access Group is deleted from Core, it is automatically removed from all tenant mappings.
Newly added tenants appear with no AGs selected by default.
Different visitor credentials (for different invites) can grant varying access levels based on the tenant mapped, even if they belong to the same visitor profile.
For older portals (Elevator 1.0), both BAG (Building AG) and EAG (Elevator AG) are available as separate fields.
