About the feature:
Genea simplifies the process for visitors to access their Host’s Home Floor with ease. In large buildings, where visitors might struggle to locate their Host’s specific Tenant, this feature ensures a touchless and efficient experience. Visitors are granted access with the necessary credentials in advance, eliminating any hassle.
Upon arrival, Visitors can simply swipe their access credentials at the building entrance. The DD system will automatically assign the appropriate elevator, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey to their designated Home Floor. This feature removes confusion and simplifies the access process, offering a seamless, touchless experience for both Visitors and Hosts.
Home Floor Assignment: Admin Configuration for Seamless Visitor Access
Building admins can easily specify individual Tenants' Home Floors for streamlined Visitor Access.
Navigate to the Building Portal:
Go to Tenants and select the desired Tenant.
Assign the Home Floor:
In the Tenant Home Floor section, click Edit to assign the designated floor for visitors.
Click Save to confirm the change.
When this setting is enabled, the visitor will be directed to the assigned Home Floor, though Users can now select a desired Home Floor from a dropdown list when inviting a guest, either via Single or Group Invite.
Default Home Floor Settings
If you prefer the Home Floor to default to the "User's Home Floor" (as configured in their User Profile) instead of the Tenant's Home Floor, simply disable the assignment configuration outlined above.
Creating a Visitor Invite and Assigning a Home Floor
Pre-register a visitor or create a walk-in visit:
To Pre-register a Visitor:
Go to the Visitor Management section in the Building Portal.
Navigate to Visitors > New Visitor > Single Invite.
Fill in the Visitor’s details and select the Tenant or Host they are visiting. The designated Home Floor will be automatically selected based on the above configuration.
If you wish to change the Home Floor, simply click on the Home Floor value and select the desired floor from the dropdown list. Save the information to complete the pre-registration.
Upon checking in and receiving their access credentials, the visitor will be granted access to the designated home floor, subject to the Access Control permissions.
Group Invite:
For a group invite, visitors can also select their Home Floor from the dropdown list. The Tenant’s selection will be inherited from the Host's details.
Badge Editor for Customizing Visitor Badges
The Badge Editor is a powerful tool available in the Visitor Management section, allowing you to customize badges according to your needs.
Navigate to the Badge Editor:
Go to Visitor Management > Visitor Type > Select a visitor type > Badge.
Customize the Badge:
Use the Badge Editor to add the visitor’s image, details, assigned home floor, credentials, etc.

Walk-in Visitors Checking In via iPad or QR Code
For walk-in visitors checking in via iPad or QR Code, the option to select the Home Floor or Tenant is not available. Instead, the system defaults to the Tenant's Home Floor, and the value is inherited from the Host's selection.
Walk-in visitors are not granted immediate door access upon check-in. After completing the check-in process, visitors must approach the front desk operator. The operator will then assign a door access credential by printing it from the Genea dashboard. This ensures door access is controlled and managed by authorized personnel, adding an extra layer of security.
