How to configure Vanderbilt interface panels with Mercury master controllers?

The integration overview:

Genea supports the Mercury master controllers (LP and EP series) to communicate downstream to Vanderbilt interface panels. Currently, the Vanderbilt "V" series (VRINX VIONX-8) and "S" series (SRINX, SIONX 8, and SIONX 24) panels are supported.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The minimum firmware version of Mercury controllers should be 1.21.2 to be able to work with Vanderbilt interface panels.

Wiring between Vanderbilt and Mercury controllers

The Vanderbilt boards can be wired to the Mercury board RS-485 port according to the following table (P4 on the VRINX, P6 on the VIONX-8):

Physical Addressing

A total of 16 Vanderbilt SIO modules may be connected to a Mercury controller. The physical address of each SIO board must be unique and can be configured as detailed in the following table ((W10 on the VRINX, W3 on the VIONX-8). Please note that the Mercury addresses range between 0 through 15 while the Vanderbilt addresses range from 1 through 16.

How to configure Vanderbilt interface panels with Mercury master controllers?

1. Configure Mercury LP/EP series controller within your Genea dashboard.

2. Navigate to the ‘Hardware’ tab in your admin dashboard, select the Mercury controller to which you wish to connect the Vanderbilt interface panel.

3. On the controller detail page, scroll down to the Ports section. The ports of the controller will be listed. By default, the port of a Mercury controller is set to "MSP1" protocol, which means support to the Mercury interface panel.

4. To configure, the Vanderbilt interface panel, edit the port and set it to "Vanderbilt" protocol and port number to 9600. Click Save.

5. Now that the Vanderbilt protocol is set for the Mercury port, proceed to add the interface panel. To add an interface panel, navigate back to the "Hardware" tab and click on "+Add" to the Interface panel section.

6. Enter the interface panel details. Click "Save".
