Add to Google Wallet – HID × Genea Mobile Access
Easily add your Genea mobile access pass to Google Wallet for use with HID readers.
What is the use of Google Wallet in Access Control?
Google Wallet allows users to use their Android phones as credentials for secure access. The Google Wallet Tap & Access card uses NFC technology to communicate with HID Access Control Readers.
This integration simplifies daily operations by letting users provision a Google Wallet pass directly on their Android phones. The phone can then be tapped at HID readers to gain entry.

FAQs
Q: I can’t tap and access the reader while my phone is locked. What should I do?
A: Unlike Apple Wallet, Express Mode is not supported. You must at least press the power button to wake the screen before tapping.
Q: How do I tap and access without unlocking my phone?
A: Open the Google Wallet app, go to the Pass Profile, and adjust the setting under Require device unlock for use. Turn this setting off to allow access without unlocking.
Q: Can I use my Android watch with Google Wallet?
A: No. Google Wallet passes are only supported on Android phones, not watches.
Q: I already have an Apple Wallet pass on my iPhone. Can I also use an Android phone?
A: Yes. You can use one iPhone and one Android phone simultaneously.
Q: Can I enable a Google Wallet pass for multiple organizations?
A: No. At this time, Google Wallet credentials can only be used for one organization at a time.
Q: Can I use multiple Android phones with the same pass?
A: No. Only one Android phone can be used at a time. To move the pass, you must delete it from the original phone or ask your system administrator to remove it from the Admin Web Portal.
Q: Do I need to use the same Google ID as my Genea Security ID?
A: No. You can provision the Google Wallet pass with a different Google account than the one used for Genea. However, if multiple Google profiles are logged into Google Wallet, errors may occur if the active profile differs from the provisioning profile.
