With Genea Visitor Management, you can enable Express Mode on any Visitor Type to give visitors a faster, single-step check-in experience — ideal for routine visits like deliveries, frequent contractors, or daily vendors

What Express Mode does

When Express Mode is turned ON for a Visitor Type:

Photo capture, NDA/document signing, and custom or advanced questions are skipped. Visitors confirm their identity in one step.
No new custom check-in fields can be added. Default fields (Full Name, Email, Mobile, Host, Tenant) remain configurable.
Check-out Fields are unaffected — you can still configure and use check-out questions, though see the note on suppression below.
The 48-hour check-in link restriction is removed for all Visitor Types, Express and Standard alike — check-in links are active the moment an invite is sent.

Turning on Express Mode

Navigate to Visitor Management > Visitor Type, and select the Visitor Type you want to update.
Go to the Settings tab and locate Express Mode Check-In.
Toggle it ON. An “Express” tag will appear next to the Visitor Type’s name.

Any previously configured photo, document, or question settings are preserved (not deleted) and remain visible in a greyed-out state while Express is ON. Turning Express back OFF restores them.

What visitors experience

Pre-registered visitors (email): The QR pass, wallet options, and download link are delivered directly in the invitation email — no check-in link to click. An optional “review details or can’t make it?” link lets the visitor update their name/mobile, confirm, or decline.

Pre-registered visitors (SMS only): The invite SMS includes a check-in link that opens the same single-page Express confirmation.

Walk-in, kiosk (iPad/Neat Frame), and touchless QR visitors: A single confirmation screen is shown with editable default fields and a Confirm button — no Decline option for walk-ins. The pass is displayed immediately on confirmation.

Dashboard walk-ins created for the current time are marked Arrived immediately, with no check-in flow. Walk-ins created for a future date follow the pre-registered flow above.

Credential timing

For Express Visitor Types, credentials (including the QR pass) are generated and activated at the time the invite is created — but access at the kiosk is still gated to the scheduled visit date and hours. Early check-in never means early admission.

Building Sync (Tenant/Building)

Building and Tenant admins each turn Express Mode on or off independently, on their own Visitor Types. However:

The Tenant side is only effectively Express when both the Building’s and the Tenant’s Visitor Types are Express.
If the Building’s Visitor Type is Standard, the Tenant side runs as Standard for that visit.

Visitor Logs

Every visitor log entry now shows a Check-in Mode chip — Express or Standard — reflecting the mode in effect when the visitor completed check-in. This value is set once and never changes retroactively. Entries from before this feature’s rollout, and invites that never reached a completed check-in state, show blank.

All Express Mode configuration changes are recorded in the Visitor Type’s Audit Log.

Good to know

Express Mode can be turned on or off at any time — nothing is locked in once enabled.
Existing Visitor Types default to Express Mode OFF; nothing changes unless an Admin opts in.
Documents/NDA signing is skipped for Express check-ins, so the NDA column in Visitor Logs shows “-” for those entries.
The iPad app is backward compatible — no app update is required to get the single-page Express confirmation experience for walk-in or self check-in.
