This article outlines how to set up different check-in flows by adding visitor types.

Adding the visitor type

To create a visitor type, follow the below steps:

1. Navigate to Visitor Management > Check-in flow from your admin dashboard. Click on "+Add".

2. Enter the Visitor type name and description. Click "Save".

NOTE: The name of the default visitor type "VISITOR" cannot be edited. It cannot be deleted as well. However, you can customize the check-in flow for the type.

Managing the visitor type

Cloning a visitor type:

Cloning a visitor type allows you to copy all the questions and settings to another visitor type. To clone a type:

1. Click on the Actions dropdown, you will see an option to Clone the visitor type.

2. Once you click on clone, you'll be prompted to name and add a description to the type. Click Save.

A visitor type can also be cloned from inside the check-in flow.

Editing a visitor type:


For changing the visitor type name and description, click on Edit under Actions.

To edit the questions or settings of the visitor type, click on the name of the visitor type.
​
​

Deleting a visitor type:

To remove a visitor type, click Delete from Actions.
​
​

Please note on deleting a visitor type, all open invites from the specific visitor type will still continue with its check-in flow. You will not be able to create any new invite using the visitor type.

Customizing the settings for the visitor type

To edit the settings for the visitor type, navigate to the Settings tab.

​Settings to show visitor type for walk-in visitors:
​
Visitor types with this setting as ON will display be displayed on iPad and touchless walk-ins.
​
Visitor types with this setting as OFF will not display be displayed on iPad and touchless walk-ins.
​

The display name is what visitors will see on the screen when they walk in. You can use the same name of visitor type or a custom one.
