How to Connect Genea MCP to Claude Cowork

Add Genea MCP as a custom connector in Claude Cowork so you can work with your Genea account from Claude.

Before you start

  • An admin has to enable Genea MCP for your organization and allow your role to connect. See the Genea MCP guide for how.

  • Each person connects Genea MCP for themselves.

  • If you have access to more than one Genea account, double check which one you sign in to.

Step 1: Open the Connectors Library

In Claude Cowork, go to the Connectors Library. This is where you add a custom connector for Genea MCP.

Step 2: Add a custom connector

  1. Click Add a Connector.

  2. Select Add Custom Connector.

  3. Give the connector a clear name, such as Genea Production.

Step 3: Find the MCP URL in Genea

  1. Open your Genea account.

  2. Go to Integrations, then Roll your own.

  3. Find Genea MCP.

  4. If it is not enabled yet, an admin needs to turn it on first.

If you are not an admin, you can use the MCP URL listed in the Genea MCP guide instead.

Step 4: Copy and paste the MCP URL

  1. Copy the MCP URL from Genea.

  2. Paste it into the custom connector setup in Claude Cowork.

  3. Click Add.

Step 5: Sign in

  1. Claude Cowork will ask you to sign in.

  2. Make sure you connect the correct Genea account.

  3. Complete the sign-in flow.

Step 6: Confirm the connector is connected

Once sign-in finishes, your Genea account is connected to Claude Cowork and ready to use.

Quick checklist

  • Genea MCP is enabled for your organization and your role

  • MCP URL copied from the right account

  • Custom connector added in Claude Cowork with a clear name

  • Signed in to the correct Genea account

  • Connector shows as connected
