Benefits
One of the key advantages of integrating Webex with Genea is the ability to centralize your communication channels. With the integration, you can receive all notifications and messages related to the Genea system directly in Webex. This allows you to keep track of everything in one place and avoid having to switch between different apps constantly.
Another benefit of integrating Webex with Genea is the ability to quickly access important information. You can use the integration to set up notifications for specific events or updates within the Genea system, such as visitor arrivals or security alerts. These notifications will appear directly in Webex, allowing you to stay informed and take quick action as needed.
Overall, integrating Webex with the Genea system is a smart choice for any organization looking to improve their team communication and streamline their processes. With its easy-to-use interface and powerful features, Webex can help you stay organized, informed, and productive, no matter where you are. Prerequisites before Installation
Genea User Account with Global Admin Role:
You should already have a Genea User Account with Global Admin Role before proceeding with the installation. If you don't have one, please contact your Genea administrator to create an account for you.
Active Webex user account:
You need a valid and active Webex user account to install the app. We recommend using a common service account for Webex to ensure seamless integration with the app. If you don't have a common service account, please contact your company admin to create an account for you.
Before proceeding with the installation, please make sure you have met all the prerequisites listed above. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our support team for help.
Installation Steps
Click on the 'Integrations' tab in your Genea dashboard. Find the Webex integration and click 'Install.'
Authorize the integration.
When you click on the Install, Genea will ask to Login to your Webex account. After successful login, Genea needs basic permission to access the Webex application. You need to accept the conditions.
Once done, Webex will be integrated with your Genea system!
Note: We recommend to use common service account for authentication.
You can Add location with the '+ Add' button. You can 'Uninstall' the app and also delete the location configuration that you made with 'Delete' column. Add location will have option to select location for which you need to configure the notification. When you select the location and click Next then it will go to the configuration step.
Select which Webex Spaces to which you would like your system notifications to be sent. We recommend creating separate spaces (i.e. #access-control, #audit-logs, #visitor-logs) for better readability and log type segregation. Which ever channels you select, these will be the channels in which you will receive your notifications. We are supporting public and private channels.
Select your notification filters. When you click on a filter, a blue check mark will appear in the filter box. This means you have enabled the filter and will be notified when the given event occurs on your access control system. When a filter is selected, it is automatically saved and will go into affect immediately.
