The reset controller function serves to wipe the database of the controller, necessitating a subsequent synchronization action to reload the data.

Typically, resetting a controller is an uncommon practice. However, there are specific scenarios where it becomes necessary, such as erroneously adding a controller to the Genea portal with an incorrect model number or needing to correct the configuration of older Mercury panels like EP series when added to a portal as LP series. Additionally, in cases where a used controller must be relocated, necessitating the clearing of its database, or during the commissioning phase for various reasons, a reset may be required.

Nevertheless, it's strongly advised to consult the Genea support team before initiating a reset to confirm if it's indeed necessary, or if the issue can be resolved through alternative means.

Resetting the controller wipes all data from its memory, rendering it non-functional until the configuration is reloaded. Therefore, utmost caution must be exercised throughout the process. After a reset, the controller reboots, and a manual synchronization is essential to reload the configuration from the application to the controller.

How to reset a controller?

1) 1) Go to the Hardware tab in your Genea admin dashboard. Locate the controller you want to reset and open its detail page.

2) Click on "More" and then select "Reset".

3) Read the information box, then confirm by typing 'Yes'.

4) The controller will reboot, and once it is back online, sync the controller.
