Genea integrates seamlessly with Tanlock3, providing all standard access control functionality directly within your system. This integration enables efficient management of doors, users, and permissions while leveraging Tanlock’s secure hardware. The result is a unified access control experience, combining Genea’s powerful software with Tanlock3’s reliable smart lock technology.

Before configuring the integration in Genea, please refer to this article to ensure the Tanlocks are set up correctly for communication with Genea.

Enable Genea + Tanlocks integration:

1. If you are a global admin, navigate to the 'Integrations' tab in your admin dashboard. Go to the 'Locks' section, and click 'Install' under the Tanlocks integration.

2. Click Add, choose the location where you want to enable Tanlocks, and then click Save.

Add the Gateway:

Note: This integration requires a gateway to facilitate communication between the Genea Cloud and Tanlocks. Refer to this article for the gateway specifications.

3. Navigate to the selected location, then go to Hardware > Gateway.

4. Click Add, enter the gateway details, and then click Save.

Attach Tanlock Devices to Doors in Genea

5. Go to Hardware > Doors. Click Add, enter the door name and an optional description.

6. Click Attach Lock, select the manufacturer as Tanlock, enter the required details, and then click Save.

Managing Access Groups for Tanlocks

7. To create an access group for Tanlocks, navigate to Access Control > Access Groups from your Genea dashboard.

8. Click on Add. From the Tanlocks section, select the doors and Save the AG.

NOTE : Master Users are not governed by access groups. They have unrestricted, 24/7 access to all Tanlocks at the location, even if the devices are offline or disconnected from the Genea gateway.

Assigning Master Access to Users

Master users are users who, when assigned, have unrestricted 24×7 access to all locks within a location. Master user access overrides all access groups and time-based restrictions, allowing access to every lock regardless of configured limitations.

The purpose of master users is to support emergency access scenarios and ensure that designated users can access all locks at any time when required.

To assign master access, navigate to Integrations → Tanlock → [Specific Location] from the global overview. Select the users you want to assign as master users, then click Save.
