The Genea Access Control System integration with the KONE Destination Dispatch Elevator System provides comprehensive support for key elevator functions, including front door access, public floor selection, home floor access, and external reader compatibility.
The current Genea implementation supports the D8X0 series, covering both the D820 and D880 versions.
This integration uses the Genea gateway to bridge the KONE system and Genea cloud, ensuring seamless elevator operation even during cloud connectivity interruptions. The gateway setup remains in sync with cloud configurations, supporting uninterrupted elevator functionality when cloud access is unavailable. Add elevator groups
An elevator group refers to a set of elevators that operate together within a specific area or section of a building. These elevators are grouped to optimize traffic flow and improve efficiency by managing passenger destinations collectively.
Each elevator group typically serves specific floors or areas, allowing the system to direct passengers to the most efficient elevator based on their destination, rather than having each elevator respond individually. This grouping approach helps reduce wait and travel times, especially in high-rise buildings.
To add an elevator group, simply click on "Add" under the KONE Elevator Group tab.
Enter a name and description for the elevator group, then click Save.
Once added, proceed with adding a KONE controller to the group.
Name : Name of the KONE controller.
Description : An optional description.
Protocol :
GCAC : When using the GCAC protocol, the system allows the user to independently select their destination floor based on their assigned access rights. This floor selection process requires identification at the elevator panel reader, located at the landing door on each floor.
RCGIF : With integration via the RCGIF protocol, the system assigns an elevator to a user with the appropriate access rights, taking them directly to their designated destination floor. The specific elevator that the user—identified at an entrance reader (such as a gate or turnstile)—should use is displayed on the associated screen.
IP address of the controller
Port number of the controller.
Adding floors to the elevator
After adding the controller to the KONE elevator group, navigate to the location view and select "Elevator > Floors."
Click +Add. Enter the maximum number of floors in a building and click Save.
Adding kiosks for KONE Destination Dispatch System
Locate Elevators > Elevator Kiosks from your admin dashboard.
Click +Add to add a kiosk. Enter kiosk name, an optional description, and click Save.
3. Once the kiosk is added, it is now required to attach readers. To do so, click on "Attach Reader". Enter all the details and click Save.
Kiosk Controller: The access controller to which the reader attached to the kiosk is connected.
Now that the KONE Kiosk setup is done, go forward and create the elevator access groups.
How to create Elevator Access Groups?
To create an access group, go to Elevators > Elevator Access Groups. Click +Add. Enter the EAG name and description. Click Save.
Once the access group is created, click edit to add floors and schedule to the group.
