Why can’t I manage or view a user’s PIN from the Global Overview in Genea?

Overview

In Genea, managing or viewing a user’s PIN is a location-specific action. This means that PINs cannot be accessed or modified from the Global Overview. To manage a user’s PIN, you must navigate to the user’s specific location context.

Why is PIN management location-specific?

PIN management is designed to be location-specific to ensure security and proper access control. The Global Overview provides a high-level summary of users and locations but does not allow for detailed actions like PIN management.

How to manage a user’s PIN

To view, assign, or update a user’s PIN, follow these steps:

  1. Switch to the user’s specific location context: - Navigate to the location where the user is assigned.

  2. Open the user’s profile: - Locate the user within the specific location.

  3. Manage the PIN: - From the user’s profile, you can view, assign, or update their PIN as needed.

These actions are not available from the Global Overview, so it is essential to switch to the appropriate location context first.
