With the introduction of Scramble QR Codes as credentials for visitors, it's important to understand how visitors can obtain and use their Visitor Badge through the Genea Visitor Management system.
Unlike traditional QR Code or Barcode badges, Scramble QR Codes are compatible with mobile web browsers. Visitors will receive a unique credentials URL upon check-in confirmation and via email notification. This URL will provide them with their Visitor Badge, which they can use when they arrive at the premises.
How to redeem the visitor badge upon the check-in confirmation:
1. Using Desktop/ Laptop Web Browser
After completing the check-in process, visitors will see a unique URL for their Scramble QR Code credentials. They can copy this URL and save it for future reference, either by bookmarking the page or adding it to their reading list.
For convenience, if a guest is registering on a desktop device, they can scan the QR code displayed on the screen with their mobile device. This will transfer the Credential URL to their mobile device for easier access.
Please note that the Scramble QR Code credential is designed to work exclusively on mobile device web browsers. Attempting to access it through any other type of browser will result in an "unsupported browser" error.
If the guest is completing the check-in process on their mobile device, they will find the appropriate options on the final confirmation page, tailored to their mobile platform.
2. For iOS Mobile Devices:
For the iOS device, Guest can click on the provided URL and can open their visitor badge like shown below.
For security reasons, visitors must register the device they plan to bring with them before accessing the Scramble QR Code badge. Once a device is registered, the Credential URL can only be opened on that specific device. Attempting to access the URL on any other device will result in a 'Link Expired' message.
For the best user experience, it is also recommended to open the Credential URL in a regular tab of your web browser.
3. For Android Mobile Devices
In addition to the method described for iOS devices, guests using Android mobile devices have the added benefit of being able to add their Scramble QR Code pass to the Google Wallet app. Once added, guests do not need to manage or use web app credentials separately.
The Scramble QR Code pass for Google Wallet adheres to a "One Account, One Device" policy to prevent sharing across multiple devices. Therefore, guests can use the pass on only one mobile device, which they plan to carry during their visit to the premises.
Guests can also access both the web and Google Wallet passes from the email notification they receive.
