How to Generate QR Codes for Walk-in Visitors

By scanning the QR code, walk-in visitors can register on their own devices, without touching any shared surface.

Admins can generate a QR from the dashboard to allow touchless check-in for their unexpected walk-in visitors.

The QR code for walk-in visitors can be used in two modes:

  1. If you have a Kiosk paired with Genea VMS, then the QR code can be displayed on the Kiosk screen. By scanning the displayed QR code, the visitor can register on his own device.

  2. If you do not have a Kiosk, then you can take a print of the generated QR from the dashboard and stick it at your reception area. Visitors can scan the QR from the sticker and register from their phones.

Below are the steps to generate a QR code for walk-in visitors:

1) Navigate to Visitor Management > Settings in your admin dashboard.

2) Enable the option "QR for Walk-In Visitors".

Clicking on "Enable" will generate a QR code. If you have uploaded a company logo, then the company logo is displayed on the top of the generated QR code.

Note: You can define your branding related details under "Settings" in the admin dashboard.

Adding your preferred text to the QR:

You can add instructions for your visitors, to the QR code before printing it out or downloading it.

Set the orientation of QR code before downloading or printing it out:

You can select your preferred orientation of the QR, before printing it out.

Download or print the QR from your admin dashboard:

You can download the code and the downloaded code can be stick at your reception area for allowing visitors to scan the code and start with registration from their devices.

Change the QR code:

For safety reasons, if at any point in time you wish to generate and new QR, then it can be done by clicking on the "Change" button. In this case, a new QR will be regenerated and the old one will get inactive.

You will need to take a print of the new QR for further use.

Disable the QR code and touchless walk-ins:

QR code can be disabled by clicking on the "Disable" button.

The active QR (if any) will go inactive and your walk-in visitors will no more be able to use the touchless registration process.

They can still use touch-based iPad check-in for registration.
