For security reasons, only roles having user management permission can add or change user profile pictures.
There are two ways to add or change a user's profile picture.
Upload a picture from files
Follow the steps below to upload a picture from files.
1) Under the 'Users' page in your Genea admin dashboard, navigate to the user's profile.
2) Under the user's 'User Profile' section, click on the circular icon above the user's name.
3) Click the 'Upload Photo' button to open the file explorer.
4) Locate the user's profile picture on your computer. Select the photo and click 'Open.'
5) Orient the picture as desired within the circular image view. Click the 'Set as Profile Photo' button to upload the photo to the user's profile.
Once uploaded, the picture will appear in the user's profile.
Capture a picture using Webcam
Follow the steps below to capture a picture using a webcam.
1) Under the 'Users' page in your Genea admin dashboard, navigate to the user's profile.
2) Under the user's 'User Profile' section, click on the circular icon above the user's name.
3) Click the 'Capture Photo' button to open the webcam preview. It will ask you for camera permission.
4) Allow Genea to access your camera for showing the webcam preview and to capture a picture. You can also allow camera permission from your browser settings.
Please note - different browser will present slightly different set of prompts to allow access to your webcam. Screenshot above shows Google Chrome browser behavior.
5) Once the webcam preview is opened, click on 'Capture' to capture the image.
6) Orient the picture as desired within the circular image view. Click the 'Set as Profile Photo' button to set the photo to the user's profile.
Once uploaded, the picture will appear in the user's profile.
If uploading individual profile pictures for all of your users seems overwhelming, no worries! We have an API endpoint available for this feature, meaning you can integrate with your existing HR software and pull profile pictures straight from there.
